Professor Codjoe detailed significant achievement under his leadership, including advancements in infrastructure, the Distance Education programme and the integration of online learning systems. He revealed that improvements in tutorial sessions and annual module revisions had led to a 17% increase in first-class graduates, which showcases the College’s commitment to academic excellence.

The Provost also celebrated the doubling of the College’s research grant portfolio and the increase in grant holders, highlighting the strides made in expanding research capacity. Additionally, he noted the successful enrolment of the first cohorts of students at the Kumasi and Takoradi campuses, demonstrating a key achievement in broadening access to education.

Despite these successes, the Provost acknowledged ongoing challenges, such as the high costs of innovative online teaching systems, limited research output and the need for stronger interdisciplinary collaborations. “Since we are building an institution, there is always room for improvement,” he remarked.

Looking ahead, the Provost stressed his commitment to consolidating the College’s gains. Plans include expanding the Distance Education programme, increasing the College’s visibility through targeted outreach and providing much-needed accommodation facilities at the Kumasi and Takoradi City Campuses.

Dr. Clement Adamba, Director of LECERP

Dr. Clement Adamba, Director of LECERP, expressed gratitude to the Provost for his instrumental role in establishing the Centre and supporting its operations. He introduced newly appointed Research Fellows, including Dr. Freda Osei Sefa, Dr. Martin Wiredu Agyekum and one Assistant Research Fellow; Mr. Innocent Agbelie, who pledged their commitment to advancing the Centre’s goals.

Dr. Adamba also outlined plans to organise capacity-building programmes in research and administration within the College, aligning with the broader vision of the Provost. He stressed the importance of equipping faculty and staff with requisite skills to drive the College’s research agenda forward.

Mr. Innocent S.K. Agbelie, a newly appointed Assistant Research Fellow, shared plans by the Centre to initiate short training sessions on selected Microsoft tools. These sessions, which will begin internally, aim to enhance operational efficiency and may later extend to other schools and affiliate colleges.

In his closing remarks, Prof. Codjoe admonished the Director and his team to work diligently towards the Centre’s success and growth. He assured them of his continued support and urged them to promptly communicate their needs and challenges to his office for resolution.

Faculty and staff of LECERP commended the Provost for his visionary leadership and achievements. They noted the importance of continued collaboration among units to advance the College’s vision. Reaffirming his commitment to promoting growth and innovation, Prof. Codjoe reiterated his dedication to achieving the College’s long-term goals and supporting the success of LECERP.
