University of Ghana’s 75th Anniversary Celebrated Through Education And Sports Insights

In a dynamic commemoration of the University of Ghana's 75th anniversary, the School of Education and Leadership a constituent of the College of Education,  hosted a lively 1-day public forum and exhibition. The event’s theme: “Enhancing Pedagogical Approaches to Teacher Education and Sports Studies,” gave a close look at the vital role of education and sports in the nation's journey.

SCDE hosts past heroes of the School

In a remarkable show of respect for history and academic unity, the School of Continuing and Distance Education (SCDE) hosted an important faculty and staff durbar. The event’s theme, "75 years of University-based Adult and Continuing Education in Ghana," marked a high point in the SCDE's celebration of the University of Ghana's 75th Anniversary.

Provost Pays Working Visit to the Bolgatanga Learning Centre

On Thursday, August 10, 2023, Professor Samuel Nii Ardey Codjoe, Provost of the College of Education, University of Ghana, paid a working visit to the Bolgatanga Learning Centre.  The purpose of the visit was to gain a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and concerns of the Centre.

College of Education Provost Attends Induction of New Principal and 7th Graduation Ceremony

The Provost of the College of Education, Professor Samuel Nii Ardey Codjoe, attended the induction ceremony of Dr. Halidu Musah as the new principal of Gbewaa College of Education and the 7th graduation ceremony of the College's first batch of students who pursued the four-year Bachelor of Education (B.ED) programme from 11th and 12 August, 2023 respectively.

Provost Holds Meeting with COE PhD Students

Prof. Samuel Nii Ardey Codjoe, Provost of the College of Education, has disclosed that his outfit is in the process of establishing a Research Centre to attract grants and enhance students' research capabilities. He indicated that when fully established, the centre would attract collaborations in educational research.

Prof. Samuel Amponsah Delivers Inter-College Lecture

On 13th July, 2023, Prof. Samuel Amponsah, Head of the Department of Distance Education, delivered a lecture on the topic “The ‘Shadow Pandemic’ in Online Learning: Perspectives of Visually Impaired Students from Ghana and Egypt.”  The lecture that was held at the Smart Classroom of the School of Continuing and Distance Education (SCDE), University of Ghana and it marked the first Inter-College lecture of the 2022/2023 academic year hosted by the College of Education.

University of Ghana Printing Press Organizes Stakeholder Engagement to Enhance Service Delivery

In commemoration of the University of Ghana's 75th anniversary, the University of Ghana Printing Press organised a stakeholder engagement event at its forecourt. The purpose of the gathering was to gather feedback from clients who utilise the printing press services, with the aim of assessing and improving the quality of their service delivery.

College of Education Holds Interactive Seminar for Students/ Graduates

On Wednesday, 21st June, 2023, the College of Education held an interactive seminar for students and graduates of the University of Ghana at the Great Hall. The seminar, which was on the theme “Harnessing employment and entrepreneurship prospects for University Graduates: Building Resilience and Embracing Technology” was attended by over 100 students and graduates.

College of Education Holds Educational Fair for Ga-Adangbe Basic Schools

As part of activities to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the University of Ghana, the College of Education held an educational fair for some pupils of basic schools located within Ga-Adangbe communities in the Greater Accra Region on 27th June 2023.

As part of activities marking the celebration of the Day of Scientific Renaissance of Africa, the School of Information and Communication Studies, College of Education, organised a panel discussion on the topic “Responses to ChatGPT: Perspectives from Ghanaian Academics, Media and Information Technology Practitioners” on Wednesday June 14, 2023 at the Balme Library, University of Ghana, Legon.
