Provost Welcome

Welcome to the College of Education of the University of Ghana which is one of the four colleges established by the University. The College is committed to providing unrestricted access to high quality tertiary education through excellence in teaching, learning, research and scholarship at international standards. The College also seeks to improve the understanding, practice and management of Information and Communication. The College is made up of three schools: School of Continuing and Distance Education, School of Education and Leadership and School of Information and Communication Studies. It is home to the Kumasi and Takoradi City Campuses of the University as well as the University of Ghana Learning Centres located at Accra, Bolgatanga, Cape Coast, Koforidua, Sunyani, Tamale, Tema, Tsito, and Wa. The College also supervises and mentors the six colleges of education affiliated to the University of Ghana, namely, Mount Mary, Accra, Enchi, Peki, Gbewaa and Evangelical Presbyterian (Amedzofe) Colleges of Education. Two units key to the University which are located in the College of Education are the University of Ghana Printing Press and Radio Univers. School of Education and Leadership Holds Maiden 2-day Biennial International Conference on Education

The School of Education and Leadership (SEL), in the College of Education, recently hosted its maiden SEL Biennial International Conference on Education in partnership with the Education Collaborative, Ashesi University. The conference theme was "Advancing Innovation for Improved Educational Policy and Practice: Prospects and Challenges."

Provost Holds An Interactive Session With Staff Of The College Of Education

To ensure inclusivity in the planning and execution of activities for the academic year, the Provost of the College of Education, Professor Samuel Nii Ardey Codjoe, held an interactive session with the staff of the College. The interaction, which took place in the Smart Classroom at the School of Continuing and Distance Education, was aimed at discussing the College's Action Plan for the academic year.

COE Materials Office Holds Seminar On Procurement Processes

The College Materials Office recently hosted a two-day seminar on procurement processes for officials and staff of the College. Held at the Smart Classroom of the School of Continuing and Distance Education from 4th-5th March, 2024, the seminar covered topics such as the procurement processes, responsibilities of user departments, and the legal implications of non-compliance with procurement laws.

Annual Interaction With PhD Students

In a recent annual interaction, Prof. Samuel Nii Ardey Codjoe, the Provost of the College of Education, engaged with all PhD students enrolled in different programmes within the College. The hybrid interaction, which accommodated both in-person and virtual attendance, focused on discussing research progress, sharing ideas, addressing challenges, and exploring avenues of support from the College.
