In October 2019, the 46 Colleges of Education in collaboration with the five Public Universities rolled-out the new B. Ed. Programme with approval from the National Accreditation Board in July, 2018.
In 2022, the Ghana Tertiary Education commenced an exercise to access the Fidelity of Implementation for the B. Ed programme. Using 24 indicators in the various components of the programme, the purpose of this exercise was to examine how best the Colleges were implementing the new teacher education programmes. Out of the 46 Colleges of Education across the country, Enchi College of Education (one of the 6 Colleges of Education affiliated to the University of Ghana) emerged as the overall best performing college, securing a high score in 20 out of the 24 indicators representing 83.3%.

At a ceremony organised by the College to celebrate the achievement, Mr. Philip Ntaah, the Principal of the College, highlighted that the College has always distinguished itself anytime a new revision in the teacher education was made and as such, thanked the management, staff and student of the College for their role in making this possible.

During his opening remarks as the Chairperson of the event, the Provost of the College of Education, University of Ghana, Prof. Samuel Nii Ardey Codjoe congratulated the Principal, his management, staff and students of the College for the excellent performance and indicated that the University of Ghana was proud to have them as an affiliate. He assured them that the University will continue to work with them based on the recommendations from the report to help the College maintain it enviable standard. The Provost used the opportunity to let the College in on his vision to promote research and the laid down plan for this vision.

On behalf of the Aowin Traditional authorities, Nana Payin II, the Tufohene of Enchi said they were happy about the College’s achievement and would do anything within their power to ensure that they chalk more success stories and would support them anytime they are called upon.
In his closing remarks, Mr. Philip Ntaah stated that the big dream for Enchi College of Education is to make the 100 mark and attain their enviable position as the 1st. He also used the occasion to list a few challenges that affected their work in the College, these include inadequate science equipment in the science laboratories, little space for practical musical lessons and inadequate Physical Education equipment, and lack of funding for workshops. Consequently, he advocated for all stakeholders to contribute to the attainment of their dream.

The ceremony ended with the unveiling and commissioning of a monument in recognition of their achievement.
The Provost was accompanied by other officials from the University including Dr. Lawrence Afutu Kotey (Coordinator, Takoradi Learning Centre), Ms. Dorinda Nbinmah Yeboah (Assistant Registrar, Office of the Provost), Mr. Prince Boateng Blay (Administartive Assistant, Office of the Provost) and Mr. Gabriel Pereira (NSP, Office of the Provost).
