The School Management Committee of the School of Information and Communication Studies was inaugurated on December 11, 2014 by the Provost of the College, Reverend Professor Cephas Omenyo. The Provost emphasized that the structure of School Management Committees under the collegiate system was designed to tap into the experience of professionals to bring their expertise from their various fields to bear on the management of the Schools.
The Provost emphasized that the SMC members were perfectly placed to support and enhance the development of the School of Information and Communication Studies, and reiterated the importance of the members to the growth of the School, especially with their interest in and commitment to higher education.
The Provost read out the mandate of the Committee as enshrined in the Statutes of the College, and charged members to go the extra mile to ensure that the Committee meets its targets.
A member lauded the University of Ghana for the innovative approach to university management and promised to take the opportunity to contribute to the success and growth of the School and the University at large.
