The Provost of the College of Education, Prof. Samuel Nii Ardey Codjoe has interacted with members of the Implementation Team for the Kumasi and Takoradi City Campuses to familiarize himself with activities and initiatives geared towards the establishment of the new Campuses.

Briefing the Provost on the progress of work, the Chair of the Implementation Team, Prof. Charity Akotia indicated that the Team was on course to fulfilling all the requirements for the establishment of the Campuses. She noted that sub-committees had been setup to ensure that plans are carried out efficiently.

The Chair and some members of the Team gave presentations on key initiatives that would be implemented at the City Campuses to attract students once approval is granted by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission for the operationalization of the Campuses. They noted that in the interim, plans were in place for staff of the Campuses to engage in customer service training and other training programmes to build their capacity to prepare them adequately to respond positively to the needs of students.

In his submission, Prof. Samuel Nii Ardey Codjoe thanked the Team for their immense contribution towards the establishment of the Kumasi and Takoradi City Campuses. He pledged to support the Team on its mandate and suggested other initiatives that could be implemented at the Campuses. He was hopeful that GTEC would grant accreditation for the take-off of the City Campuses shortly, to enable regular students have access to the quality education University of Ghana provides in the Ashanti and Western Region.

Present at the meeting were some Members of the Implementation Team, namely: Mr. Joseph Oduro Nkansah, College Secretary, College of Education; Prof. Olivia Kwapong, Dean of the School of Continuing and Distance Education; Professors Edward Nketiah-Amponsah and Bernardin Senadza, Ag. Principals of the Kumasi and Takoradi City Campuses; Mr. Michael Owusu Ansah, College Finance Officer of the College of Education and Mrs. Cynthia Adu, Member / Secretary of the Team.
