Professor Oheneba-Sakyi explaining a point to participants

Sakai is used by hundreds of institutions across the world, and was adopted for use in the University of Ghana over ten years ago. The Sakai LMS is the major mode of interaction between students on the Distance Education programme and their lecturers and tutors.

Professor Yaw Oheneba-Sakyi, a former Dean of SCDE, was the lead facilitator, and was assisted by Mr. Gainford Amponsah, Instructional Technologist and Designer at SCDE. Participants were educated on the role of the SAKAI Learning Management System for innovation, teaching and learning, and received training on the role of Learning Management Systems for Innovation in Education; how to use the SAKAI LMS for academic purposes; and were also taken through a demonstration of how to view a course on the SAKAI LMS.
