Launch of Bachelor of Education Curriculum

Government has introduced a comprehensive package of reforms within the teacher education sector, including a new 4-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) curriculum for initial teacher education, which is currently being run in all public Colleges of Education in Ghana.

University of Ghana Holds April 2019 Congregation

The University of Ghana has held a Congregation ceremony for students of the College of Education who have successfully completed their programmes of study in the 2017/2018 academic year. A total of 844 students made up of 6 graduate students, 727 undergraduates and 93 Diploma students graduated.

 

School of Information and Communication Studies Hosts Seminar on US Journalism’s Disruption & Democracy in the Digital Age

The School of Information and Communication Studies has organized a seminar on the theme “US Journalism’s Disruption and Democracy in the Digital Age”. It was delivered by Professor Dorothy Bland, a professor of Journalism at the University of North Texas, USA.

Workshop on Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs)

The University of Ghana is partnering a consortium of universities; KU Leuven, Belgium; Stellenbosch University, South Africa; University of Zimbabwe and University of Rwanda to develop a Massive Open Online Course in Clinical Nutrition. As part of the consortium’s activities, a workshop was held on the 27th and 28th of March 2019 with the aim of equipping faculty members across the University with the needed skills to develop and manage Massive Open Online Courses. The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Stijn Van Laer of the Faculty of Medicine, KU Leuven.

Department of Teacher Education hosts Seminar on the Relevance of the Senior High School Curriculum in Relation to Contextual Reality of the World of Work

Dr. Abraham Okrah, a Lecturer in the Department of Teacher Education, has delivered a lecture on The Relevance of the Senior High School Curriculum in Relation to Contextual Reality of the World of Work. The seminar was hosted by the Department of Teacher Education, School of Education and Leadership, College of Education, as part of its monthly seminar series.
