University of Ghana Kumasi City Campus Embarks on Outreach Programmes to Senior High Schools in the Ashanti Region

In a series of impactful engagements, the University of Ghana Kumasi City Campus (UGKCC), under the College of Education, has embarked on an extensive outreach programme aimed at educating, supporting and advising final year Senior High School students in the Ashanti Region. This initiative was designed to enhance awareness of the presence of the University of Ghana in the region.

Mrs. Yvonne Lartey, Head of the Admissions Unit and Mr. Fredrick Yuorkuu, Head of the Teaching and Examination Unit, both at the University of Ghana, joined Senior Officials from the UGKCC in this effort. The team visited several schools, including Kumasi Girls' Senior High School, Kumasi Anglican Senior High School, Effiduase Senior/Commercial High School, Armed Forces Senior High School, and Serwaa Nyarko Girls' Senior High School.

These sessions covered critical topics such as university admissions, cut-off point requirements for various programmes, examination protocols and potential job prospects. During these engagements, students expressed their excitement at the knowledge gained as they actively participated in discussions with university officials. They also expressed interest in learning more about the programmes offered at UGKCC.

The outreach programme is set to continue with scheduled visits to additional Senior High Schools within the region to ensure that a broader spectrum of students benefit from this initiative.
