COE Provost and RID Director Forge Stronger Ties for Research Excellence

The Provost of the College of Education, Professor Samuel Nii Ardey Codjoe, has reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening research initiatives within the College following a visit from the Director of the Research and Innovation Directorate (RID), Professor David Dodoo-Arhin. The meeting, held on 17th February, 2025 in the Provost’s Office, provided a valuable opportunity for both parties to discuss avenues for collaboration in advancing the University’s research agenda.

Professor Dodoo-Arhin, who took office on 2nd January, 2025, introduced himself formally and shared his vision for enhancing research across all the Colleges in the University of Ghana. Their discussions focused on fostering closer ties between RID and the College of Education, aiming to boost research capacity and impact. Other key issues discussed included aligning RID’s support with the Provost’s strategic goals, improving the operations of the College Grants Office, and ensuring the active involvement of Research Development Officers (RDOs) in the College Research Board.

Welcoming the collaboration, Professor Codjoe commended the Director’s proactive approach to research and assured him of the College’s full support. He underscored the importance of strengthening research efforts, highlighting their alignment with the University’s overarching mission and the College’s long-term aspirations.

In his concluding remarks, Professor Codjoe reiterated the College’s commitment to fostering impactful research and innovation that will benefit the University community and beyond.
