UG College of Education Graduates Over 3,500 Students at February 2026 Congregation

The College of Education of the University of Ghana graduated over 3,500 students, comprising more than 2,500 undergraduates and over 1,000 postgraduate students, during the February 2026 College-based Congregation Ceremonies held in three sessions.

 

The ceremonies formed part of the University of Ghana’s February 2026 congregation series for the 2024/2025 graduating cohort. Across the University’s four colleges, a total of 15,288 students were awarded degrees during 17 congregation sessions, including 153 PhD graduates, 4,197 master’s graduates, 10,543 undergraduates and 395 diploma graduates.

Speaking on behalf of the Chancellor, her representatives congratulated the graduates and commended them for their perseverance and resilience.  “To our graduates, I offer my warmest congratulations. Your journey to this point has required perseverance, discipline and sacrifice. Many of you have balanced your studies with work, family responsibilities and financial pressures. Being here today is a testament to your resilience and determination,” the representative stated, urging them to enter the world of work with integrity.

Delivering remarks on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, the Provost of the College of Education, Professor Samuel Nii Ardey Codjoe welcomed the graduates and their families and commended the students for their achievements.  “We are delighted to celebrate the remarkable accomplishments of our students and to mark this important milestone in their academic journey,” the representative noted.

For the February 2026 congregation ceremonies, the College of Education adopted a theme that highlighted entrepreneurship and self-motivation, leading to the selection of entrepreneurs and professionals with inspiring life stories as guest speakers for the three sessions.

 

In their addresses, the guest speakers shared their personal journeys and encouraged the graduates to remain resilient, innovative and committed to making meaningful contributions to society.

Meanwhile, the valedictorians for the three sessions expressed their gratitude to the University and the College management for the support and guidance they received during their studies. They also congratulated their fellow graduates and encouraged them to pursue excellence in their future endeavours.

The ceremonies concluded in a celebratory atmosphere, as graduates were joined by their families, friends and members of the University community to mark an important milestone in their academic journey. For many, the occasion represented not only the culmination of years of hard work and sacrifice, but also the beginning of new professional and academic pursuits as the College’s newest alumni.
