Professor Samuel Nii Ardey Codjoe, outgoing Provost of the College of Education, University of Ghana, has held a series of engagements with Deans and faculty from the School of Education and Leadership and the School of Information and Communication Studies, reflecting on his tenure and encouraging sustained institutional collaboration.

The meetings provided an opportunity for Professor Codjoe to review his achievements since assuming office, express appreciation for the support received from faculty and call for continued commitment to the College’s development agenda under incoming leadership.

Professor Codjoe, who is set to assume office as Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research, Innovation and Development) effective 1st August, 2026, encouraged faculty to continue engaging him where necessary. “Wherever I am, I will always have the College’s best interests at heart,” he assured.

Faculty members from both schools congratulated him on his appointment, describing it as a well-deserved recognition of his leadership and contributions to the University. They further expressed the hope that he would use his new position to advance the interests of the College and ensure that its needs receive greater institutional attention.

During the engagements, faculty members raised concerns and proposals aimed at strengthening the College. They appealed for advocacy towards the provision of a dedicated building for the College of Education, similar to the Kojo Senanu Arts and Language Building allocated to the College of Humanities. They also highlighted the absence of an Ethical Clearance Committee within the College structure and called for its establishment to streamline research ethics processes and improve the efficiency of research approvals.

In response, Professor Codjoe assured faculty that he would remain accessible and committed to the best interests of the College, even in his new role. He expressed sincere appreciation to faculty for their support throughout his tenure, noting that his achievements were made possible through the collective efforts of the College community. He added that he holds the College of Education in high regard for its role in his professional journey.
