The Provost of the College of Education, Prof. Peter Quartey, has visited the Accra Learning Centre as part of his ongoing engagement with the College’s constituent units and to familiarise himself with their operations, facilities and the concerns of staff.
The visit provided an opportunity for the Provost and members of the College’s management team to interact with staff, assess the facilities at the Centre and gain first-hand insight into its operations. The delegation included the College Registrar, Mr. Joseph Oduro Nkansah, the Dean of the School of Continuing and Distance Education (SCDE), Prof. Samuel Amponsah and the Head of the Department of Distance Education, Prof. Simon-Peter Kafui Aheto.
The delegation was received by the Coordinator of the Accra Learning Centre, Prof. Linda Tsevi; Centre Administrator, Ms. Grace Mary Annan and staff of the Centre.
Addressing staff during the interaction, Prof. Quartey commended them for their hard work and dedication to the Centre’s activities. He encouraged them to build on the progress made and work even harder to promote the growth and development of the Centre. He urged staff to remain committed to their responsibilities and to continue contributing meaningfully to the work and strategic objectives of the College.
The engagement was followed by an inspection of key facilities, including the lecture halls, library and ICT laboratory, to assess the facilities and gain a better understanding of the learning environment and the resources available to support teaching and learning at the Centre.
As part of the visit, the Provost and his delegation also paid a courtesy call on the Principal of the Accra City Campus, further strengthening collaboration and engagement between the College and its institutional partners.
The visit forms part of the Provost’s broader engagements with the College’s schools, departments and learning centres as the College continues to strengthen its operations, deepen stakeholder engagement and improve the delivery of its academic and support services.
