April 2018 Congregation - General Notice

GRADUANDS ARE REQUESTED TO NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

  1. Congregation is on Saturday, April 28, 2018.  You may check the Congregation Schedule link listed on the right side of this page for further details.
  2. Important information regarding registration for congregation and payment may be found on the University of Ghana Congregation website: http://www.ug.edu.gh/congregation.
  3. Lists of graduands to be presented in April 2018 will be available from Thursday, April 19, 2018 on the University and College of Education websites. Graduands who wish to attend the Congregation will be required to register on-line  and make payment from that date.  Graduands should ensure that they register online before making the expected payment to avoid complications.
  4. Following registration, an invoice will be generated for payment of the congregation fee of GH¢ 220.00.

There are two modes of payment:

  1. Online Payment via Debit/Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard) - this reflects instantly ( You can pick up academic gown, etc. immediately)
  2. Payment at any branch of Ecobank Ghana Limited into the University of Ghana Congregation account - this reflects within 24 hours (Pick up next day)

  1. Students with outstanding bills should contact the STUDENTS ACCOUNTS OFFICE promptly to settle them. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that obligations on his/her account to the University are met to enable records to be cleared for registration. Students with outstanding fees on their account may be barred from registration and receipt of their UG Transcripts/Certificates.
  2. Upon presentation of Student ID and payment slip at the respective College/School collection point, graduands will be issued with ACADEMIC GOWNS AND INVITATION CARDS. 
  3. Deadline for registration for Congregation: THURSDAY, 26th APRIL, 2018  AT 12:00 MIDNIGHT PROMPT!   

 

  • Graduands should locate their seats prior to the commencement of the ceremony. Graduands should be seated by 8.00 a.m. Graduands should not loiter at the entrance to the Hall and around its perimeter, please.
  • Graduands will be recognized individually by officials on the dais.
  • Male graduands are expected to take off their caps before approaching the dais.
  • Graduates are asked to return the rented gowns to the collection point (Alumni Relations Office on Monday, 30th April and between Wednesday, 2nd May and Friday, 4th May, 2018, between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 4.30 p.m.  Failure to return gowns as required during this period will attract a weekly penalty. Late submission should be done at Room D7, Academic Affairs Directorate where the penalty will be determined.
  • Upon return of the full gown set (hood, gown and cap) and presentation of Student Identification Card or valid picture ID, Academic Certificates will be issued to the graduate.
  • Do make it a point to register officially as alumna/us of the University of Ghana by filling forms available at the UG Alumni Relations Office desk at the Great Hall.
