Provost Pays Working Visit to the Bolgatanga Learning Centre

On Thursday, August 10, 2023, Professor Samuel Nii Ardey Codjoe, Provost of the College of Education, University of Ghana, paid a working visit to the Bolgatanga Learning Centre.  The purpose of the visit was to gain a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and concerns of the Centre.

In his welcome address, Dr. Samuel Nuamah Eshun, the Centre Coordinator, expressed his delight in hosting the Provost and his team.

In a meeting with staff of the Centre, the Provost sought first-hand information about ongoing activities and initiatives at the Centre.  He noted that a Committee would be set up by the College to consider all the proposals on sustainability of the Learning Centres submitted by the Coordinators and make recommendations for management decision.

In his discussions, the Provost emphasised the importance of finding innovative methods to enhance the centre's competitiveness. He stressed the need for generating additional revenue and encouraged the centre to identify opportunities that could be leveraged. He urged the centre to strive in exceeding expectations in terms of what they offer and how they deliver their services. This, he believed, would enable the centre maintain a leading position in the face of competition.

The visit also offered an opportunity for staff to interact with schedule officers on issues related to human resources, finance, among others.

The meeting ended with an inspection of the ongoing renovation works at the Centre to ascertain the progress of work.   The inspection was led by Dr. Eshun, the Centre Coordinator.
