The Provost Visits Cape Coast Learning Centre

The Provost of the College of Education, Prof. Samuel Nii Ardey Codjoe and a team from College of Education on Wednesday, 24th May, 2023 paid a visit to the Cape Coast Learning Centre. The visit provided an opportunity for the Provost to interact with the staff, familiarize himself with operations and activities and the Learning Centre as well as exploring alternative measures for the improvement and increment of revenue generation.

The team was warmly received by the Centre Coordinator, Dr. Hayford Ayerakwa and staff of the Centre. He expressed his excitement and that of his staff at receiving the Provost and his team at the Centre after which he led the delegation on a tour of the facility.

 Addressing the staff, Prof. Samuel Nii Ardey Codjoe officially introduced himself as the Provost of the College of Education. He also shared his vision with the staff and gave staff the opportunity to enumerate some challenges that had affected their work. These challenges included delays in their promotion process, delays in financial claims, challenges with water, inadequate security supplies, inadequate computers, problems with procurement, network problems.

The staff at the Centre also spoke about other issues concerning their work which were addressed by Ms. Bridget Antor, a Senior Administrative Assistant at the College Human Resource Office.

In his closing remarks, the Provost commended the management and staff on their successes and assured them that measures would be put in place to mitigate some of their challenges where possible.

To crown the visit as successful, the Provost hosted the management and staff of the Cape Coast Learning Centre to a dinner which was interspersed with a game.

The team from the College included Mrs. Alberta Doe (Principal Administrative Assistant, SEL), Ms. Bridget Antor (Senior Administrative Assistant, HR Office), Mr. Evans Abankwah (Senior Administrative Assistant, Academic Office), Mr. Prince Boateng Blay (Senior Administrative Assistant, Provost Office), Ms. Ivy Makafui Amekudzi (Senior Printing Assistant, Printing Press), Mr. Ebenezer Amoah (NSP, SEL) and Ms. Martina Agbodza (NSP, SCDE).
