UG-GRASAG Executives Pay Courtesy Call on Provost of the College of Education

The Graduate Students’ Association of the University of Ghana, led by its President, Mr. Claudius B. Angsongna, paid a courtesy call on the Provost of the College Education, Professor Samuel Nii Ardey Codjoe, on December 19, 2023. The purpose of the visit was to formally introduce the executives and initiate discussions on potential collaborations that will contribute to enhancing the general well-being of graduate students on campus.

 

During the meeting, several challenges facing graduate students were discussed.  These include delays in the external thesis marking process, as well as difficulties in the acquisition of ID cards, which is crucial for hostel access under the new system. Also, the need to develop research-focused educational programmes within constituent departments was emphasised.

 

In his remarks, the Provost expressed his willingness to collaborate with GRASAG in addressing these challenges, emphasising his commitment to improving the graduate student’s experience within his domain. He encouraged them to actively publish and contribute to their body of knowledge.  He further urged them to engage in comprehensive reading to identify existing gaps in literature, enabling them to stay updated in their field and make meaningful contributions to its advancement.

 

The Provost concluded by extending well wishes to the GRASAG executives for their future endeavors and reassured them of his continued support.
