Prof. Samuel Nii Ardey Codjoe, Provost of the College of Education, led the annual meeting convened for national service personnel with his organization at the Smart Classroom of the School of Continuing and Distance Education. The initiative is part of his vision to establish effective leadership and a vibrant college environment. The meeting focused on the experiences and challenges of national service personnel at the University of Ghana's College of Education.

During his welcome remarks, Mr. Joseph Oduro Nkansah, the College Secretary, underscored the purpose of the annual interaction with the Provost. He emphasized that the gathering aimed to gain insight into the expectations and challenges encountered by National Service Personnel. He added that this aligns with the Provost's vision for a dynamic College environment.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Codjoe emphasised the tradition of the annual interaction with National Service Personnel and encouraged them to share expectations and challenges. He also encouraged them to explore the College website to acquaint themselves with key individuals and their respective responsibilities.

Expressing expectations from the service personnel, Prof. Codjoe anticipated their enthusiasm and commitment, emphasising the potential for employment through hard work. He highlighted key events from the past academic year, including the opening of city campuses in Takoradi and Kumasi.

In a candid discussion, Service Personnel revealed challenges such as limited office space and computers. Commenting on the issue, Prof. Codjoe assured that measures were in place to address these issues and urged personnel to make the most of available resources. "In real life, there are always challenges and we shouldn't be overwhelmed by them. Instead, we should find innovative ways to handle them," he remarked.

Recognising the current job market challenges, Prof. Codjoe encouraged personnel to view the service period as a sacrificial yet valuable experience, with potential employment opportunities. He emphasized the importance of innovation in overcoming challenges.

In concluding remarks, Prof. Codjoe admonished all National Service Personnel to work diligently, arrive early to work daily, and avoid idle time in their offices.
