University of Ghana Takoradi City Campus (UGTCC) Holds Opening and Maiden Matriculation Ceremonies

The University of Ghana Takoradi City Campus has held an opening and maiden matriculation ceremony for its first cohort of students at a brief and colourful ceremony.
Welcoming the gathering, the Acting Principal of UGTCC, Prof. Bernardin Senadza, stated that the overall objective of the UGTCC is to provide a top-tier university education that equips students to excel, lead, and become responsible scholars, professionals and global citizens.

PROVOST OF COE, PROF. SAMUEL NII ARDEY CODJOE HOLDS ANNUAL MEETING WITH NATIONAL SERVICE PERSONNEL

Prof. Samuel Nii Ardey Codjoe, Provost of the College of Education, led the annual meeting convened for national service personnel with his organization at the Smart Classroom of the School of Continuing and Distance Education. The initiative is part of his vision to establish effective leadership and a vibrant college environment. The meeting focused on the experiences and challenges of national service personnel at the University of Ghana's College of Education.

UNIVERSITY OF GHANA TAKORADI CITY CAMPUS ORGANISES FLOAT AND OPEN DAY

The University of Ghana Takoradi City Campus (UGTCC) recently organised a Float and Open Day as part of its sensitization exercise. The Open Day was preceded by a float, during which Officials from UGTCC were accompanied by police officers as they moved through the Takoradi Township, engaging with the community and sharing information about programmes offered at the UGTCC.

College of Education, University of Ghana Graduates of Over 4,400 Students

The College of Education, University of Ghana recently held Congregation ceremonies, graduating a total of 4,428 students who successfully completed their academic programmes during the 2022/2023 academic year. The ceremonies took place from Wednesday, January 24th to Saturday, January 27th, 2024, at the Great Hall. Under the guidance of the College Secretary, Mr. Joseph Oduro Nkansah, the ceremonies proceeded smoothly.

Family of Late Professor Janet Kwami Donates Books to Department of Communication Studies

The family of the late Prof. Janet Kwami, an alumna of the Department of Communication Studies at the University of Ghana and a distinguished Professor of Communication at Furman University in the USA, has fulfilled a promise she made, by donating a collection of books to the Department. Prof. Kwami had pledged her library to the Department before her passing.
The generous donation, comprising academic books and scholarly publications, was presented by members of her family during a brief event at the Department.

COLLEGE OF EDUCATION HOSTS APPRECIATION DINNER FOR NATIONAL SERVICE PERSONNEL AND STAFF

The College of Education hosted an appreciation dinner for a staff member and fourteen (14) National Service Personnel who served the College during the 2022/2023 academic year. The event recognised their efforts and service to the College over the period.

College of Education Advisory Board Inspect Facilities at the Kumasi City Campus

The Advisory Board Members of the College of Education, together with the Provost and other College officials, conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Kumasi City Campus facilities on Friday, January 12, 2024. The purpose of the visit was to evaluate the state of the bungalows and other infrastructure owned by the College.

H.E. Dr. Bawumia Opens the 75th Annual New Year School and Conference

The 75th Annual New Year School and Conference has opened at the University of Ghana. The opening ceremony, which took place at the Great Hall, was chaired by Justice Barbara Frances Ackah-Yensu, a member of UG Council, who represented the Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Mrs. Mary Chinery Hesse.
Special Guest of Honor, His Excellency Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice-President of the Republic of Ghana who represented the President of Ghana, acknowledged the theme of this year’s School and Conference as timely.

College of Education Receives €300,000 Funding for Climate Change Related Research

The College of Education has recently received its first funding after approval was granted for Colleges to host projects on 1st September, 2023.  The “ImmobiliTy in a changing Climate (ITHACA) Project”, sponsored by the Belmont Forum, is set to run for 3 years with a total funding of approximately 300,000 Euros.

UG-GRASAG Executives Pay Courtesy Call on Provost of the College of Education

The Graduate Students’ Association of the University of Ghana, led by its President, Mr. Claudius B. Angsongna, paid a courtesy call on the Provost of the College Education, Professor Samuel Nii Ardey Codjoe, on December 19, 2023. The purpose of the visit was to formally introduce the executives and initiate discussions on potential collaborations that will contribute to enhancing the general well-being of graduate students on campus.
